Waking up in Vegas...The Bevolution Continues
New merch shop, festival brainstorming, job spotlight, CraftBeerCon 2024, Let's Love Louder Initiative & more Brave Noise.
We are back from Vegas after spending some much-needed time with our friends Beer is for Everyone for their Pride Party at Las Vegas Brewing Company during the week of the Craft Brewers Conference. Though we did not attend the conference, we caught up with a lot of industry folks. By speaking with so many inspiring humans within the industry doing incredible work to make it better, it reignited our flame. We even got to meet in-person some of our Bevolution Creators in Bev grantees! Since we have returned, there have been a few ideas floating around. One in particular is producing a festival that spotlights women, trans, and nonbinary creators in beer, cider, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic bevs, and includes immersive experiences and activations featuring industry professionals. Yesterday, we did a call out on Instagram Stories and Threads to see what folks thought, where they would like this event to be held, and if they’d like to get involved. So far we’ve had over 100 responses. Seems like we may need to do a tour vs. just one festival. We encourage all to be part of this convo, and we will be actively posting about this on Instagram and Threads throughout the month. Feel free to DM us or email us at womenofthebevolution@gmail.com if you’d like to get involved or have some ideas you’d like to send our way.
What else is going on? We have a new merch shop! As this has been a work in progress for a while, please if you see any issues with the site or shipping, reach out to us and we will immediately help resolve whatever the issue may be. We hope this new merch store offers a way to raise direct funds for our programs, and eventually help us produce fests and more content spotlighting creators in bev. The store features a range of colors for each item whether it’s a t-shirt or sweater. We also have the Support Women in Beer bottle opener, Bevolution biker shorts and Bevolution tote.

Speaking of Crafted for Action…we hope to see you at the conference in June!
Atlanta, we are headed to Crafted for Action’s annual conference CraftBeerCon June 19-22. The in-person and virtual conference has a ton of panel discussions and events, and there is nothing else like it right now in the beer industry. Seriously. Read below about this event, founded by Jen Price.
The American craft beer scene lacks diversity. And at a time when finding common ground is more important than ever, craft beer can represent community and support for small businesses, while celebrating individuality.
Crafted for Action was founded by Jen Price in 2020 after closing her beer business. At the same time, the beer industry was forced to take an introspective look and seriously consider ways to address issues of systemic racism, sexism, and gender inequalities. Jen leveraged this momentum and launched Crafted for Action and its signature event - an annual craft beer conference.
The Crafted for Action Craft Beer Conference is a hybrid, action oriented conference where robust discussions can occur and ideas can be developed into real solutions for lasting change in the beer community.
Whether you’re in Atlanta or not, learn how you can tune-in and get involved at CraftedForAction.com
Thank you Frances @FermentableSugar for making BRAVE NOISE!
Join us in cheering on Frances during the Colfax Marathon in Denver, CO, May 18-19th as they raise funds for BRAVE NOISE and the Bevolution Brave Voices Fund. This fund is inspired by the brave voices who have shared their stories of gender discrimination, sexual harassment, assault, and racism in the beer / alcohol industry. The Bevolution Brave Voices Fund in collaboration with Another Round Another Rally offers financial aid, mental health services, job coaching and legal assistance.
Frances is one of those brave voices. Thank you for sharing your story, Frances.
Please continue reading below or click the button below to learn more about their story and how you can support.
A note from Frances:
This year, I am raising money for Brave Noise with my running of the Colfax Marathon!
*TRIGGER WARNING: the following includes sexual assault*
In June of 2022, I was sexually assaulted in an airport following a brewing conference. A space that I should have felt safe in with cameras and security were ultimately ineffective deterrents to my assailant, as was the justice system following my report of what had happened to my inebriated body.
I spent two weeks depressed, borderline catatonic. But here is where I decided I have a choice:
1 Lose my opportunities, and look back years later with regret that I let that man take away what I worked so hard for, or 2 Fight back with success and strength.
I got back on the treadmill and started a weight training program. I couldn’t stand the smell of alcohol, so I stayed sober and focused on healing. I dove into the research, even if my hands shook with pipetting and plating.
I ran the Colfax marathon in May of 2023. It was tremendously healing. As I approached the finish line listening to Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain,” I realized that every mile, I was reaching backward to every iteration of me: to the victim, the angsty teenager, the curious child, each holding each other’s hands to create my own chain of identity. I was also reaching forward to the person I don’t know, but they were on the other side of the finish line, and I wanted to learn all about them and this new link in the chain.
This year I am running the Colfax Marathon again for Brave Noise, a nonprofit that is working towards a safe and discrimination-free beer industry. Brave Noise helps and empowers people who have been victims of gender or racial-based discrimination, harassment, or abuse in the hospitality workplace with resources and financial support. We all deserve to be here without worrying that we will be attacked for being us. We deserve to feel safe and celebrate who we are, and we all deserve a beer.
Hopefully you’re still with us because we know this newsletter is a bit long but we have a few more important items to let you know about:
GET LOUD! The Let’s Love Louder initiative, a call to action to end the genocide in Palestine, has launched The Glory to the Resistance Lager. This collaborative project, proudly supported by Women of the Bevolution and Beer is for Everyone, was created by Jacque Irizarry @_hoppenstance, and the Palestinian Lager recipe was crafted and brewed by @countercultureferments and @kegs_and_kilos. Proceeds from the merch campaign and this collaborative brew go toward raising funds for women and girls in Gaza through nonprofit Tomorrow’s Women.
An important read below. Coming back from Vegas and seeing several industry events happening at BrewDog Vegas… let’s be real, it’s fucking gross. Some folks kept saying “well the UK BrewDog is different than the US BrewDog.” Same ownership. Same bullshit. Stop with the excuses. Otherwise, this industry will go backwards just like our reproductive rights.
